First Customer Success Manager, Enterprise AI Platform, San Francisco

San Francisco, CA Permanent US$130,000 to US$160,000 base (OTE US$170,000 to US$200,000) Posted October 10, 2026

The Role

A 25-person company in San Francisco builds an AI platform that works across the applications an enterprise already runs. It is hiring its first dedicated Customer Success Manager.

You own the customer from proof of concept to renewal. Expect to spend 13 or more hours a week on customer calls, matching what the customer is trying to achieve with what the product can do. The founders and the product team hear from you directly.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a portfolio of enterprise customers through onboarding, adoption, renewal and upsell
  • Run discovery and use-case calls that turn a pilot into daily use
  • Own the conversation that converts a proof of concept into a paid contract, alongside the deployed engineers
  • Bring bugs, feature requests and customer feedback to the product team and the co-founders
  • Solve the awkward cases where the customer’s goal and the product do not line up neatly

What You Need

  • 5 to 7 years in customer success at a SaaS startup
  • CSM experience at an AI company or a horizontal SaaS company
  • Time at an early-stage startup, seed to Series C
  • A strategic approach to the account, with renewals and expansion you can point to
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. Three days a week in the office, Tuesday to Thursday

Who This Does Not Suit

  • CSMs whose work has been reactive support, with no ownership of the commercial outcome

Useful, Not Required

  • Experience at a company that runs both a product-led and an enterprise sales motion

Package

  • Base salary: US$130,000 to US$160,000
  • On-target earnings: US$170,000 to US$200,000
  • Work rights: US citizen or permanent resident. No visa sponsorship or transfers
  • Location: hybrid, San Francisco
