Customer Success Lead, School Partnerships, New York
The Role
A 20-person company in New York provides mental health care for teenagers, and reaches them through partnerships with schools and districts. It is hiring a Customer Success Lead.
This sits above the company’s Customer Success Manager role. You carry your own portfolio of strategic school and district partnerships, and you also build the operating base for the Success function: playbooks, metrics, dashboards and workflows. In time you coach the team.
The book is high volume. Think 100 or more accounts, not ten large ones.
What You Will Do
- Own a portfolio of school and district partnerships end to end
- Act as the main contact for school counsellors and other school stakeholders
- Grow the portfolio by helping counsellors identify more students who could benefit
- Shape how the Success team grows referral volume
- Define the playbooks, metrics and dashboards that keep partners healthy and the team’s time well spent
- Automate repetitive work with AI so more hours go to the relationships
- Work with Operations, Product, Growth and Clinical teams to fix problems and pass on what you hear
What You Need
- 5 or more years in customer success, account management or sales, with a large book of 100 or more accounts
- A growth record: referral, upsell or sales targets met or beaten, not retention alone
- Evidence you have built a process from nothing at a seed to Series B company
- AI tools already part of how you work
- Comfort with messy data, and the ability to turn it into a decision
- The instinct to coach, and an interest in leading a team
- A real interest in young people’s access to mental health care
- Based in New York or willing to relocate. Hybrid, three days a week in the office
Who This Does Not Suit
- Account managers whose experience is a handful of enterprise accounts
- Customer success people who wait for the customer to call
- People who need heavy structure to do good work
Useful, Not Required
- A career that started in sales development or as an account executive before moving into customer success
- EdTech, K-12 or school-facing partnership experience
- A background or strong interest in mental health or psychology
Package
- Base salary: US$110,000 to US$150,000
- Equity: included
- Work rights: US work authorisation required. Visa transfers (OPT, H-1B transfer) are considered
- Location: hybrid, three days a week in the Manhattan office
